Langpreneur Podcast – Episode #65
From “freebie” to thank you page your funnel looks great — so why aren’t people buying your product? What part of your sales funnel isn’t converting, and what can you do to fix it?
Today, we explore some fundamental reasons why people aren’t pouring in to purchase your products.
“The way to look at sales is everything that happens from the landing page to the email to the sales page to the follow-up.”
Is it the offer?
The first thing to consider is whether the offer resonates with your audience because the best writing in the world won’t fix the wrong offer.
Indeed, if you can create a compelling offer, you don’t even need a sales page. You can just send out an email to your audience saying ‘here’s what I’ve got’ and your fans will buy because it perfectly solves their problem.
“Before trying to fix anything on the sales page you’ve got to think about the offer and whether it’s doing its job.”
If you’re sure the offer is on target then consider adding bonuses to sweeten the deal.
Is it the copy?
Often the problem is simply poor copywriting, and in this case, you have two solutions.
The expensive short-term option: go find someone who can help.
Hire someone who knows what they’re doing. Good copywriters are expensive but worth it to get precisely the right words on the page.
The long-term answer: study copywriting so you can do it yourself.
Learn how to write compelling copy. It takes a long time, but it’s the best investment you can make.
“The thing that gets someone to buy your product are the words on the page.”
Analyse what’s going wrong in your sales funnel
The question to ask is “Where are people not taking the action that I want them to take?”
Analyse your numbers to see where the problem lies. Is it in email opens? Conversion rate? Click-throughs from your videos? The more you do it, the better you’ll get.
Ask your audience why they didn’t buy? Some fans are very willing to give honest feedback which could pinpoint where you’re going wrong.
In a nutshell
There are three main reasons why your sales funnel may not be converting.
- The offer is weak.
- The price is too high
- Copywriting is not compelling
Double-check your offer, analyse the numbers and ask your audience to see what you can correct. Fix these three problems and watch the sales flow in.
